Pondering life
I just had a unique conversation with a colleague which reminded me that I’m living a very passive life. I drive my car, I drink coffee, I go to work and school. I’m completely politically uninformed, and honestly a little happy about that. I am comfortable in my bubble. I’ve reigned in my passionate nature and converted it into some other form of energy. I’m not clear on whether or not this is positive or negative. Apparently the pope has added new sins.
I am feeling complacent and not sure how to change.
In any case I feel a little tired, a little like I want to get into my car, drive to Acme and pick up some lunch before class starts. Oh and afterwards I’m getting a massage… (Doesn’t that sound frou frou?)
“I am feeling complacent and not sure how to change.”
Honestly, I was in the same rut around the Holidays last year; just utterly uninspired. What helped was reconnecting with old friends. Now we (some of the old IMAC crowd) do a monthly dinner thing down here in L.A. Gives us something to look forward to. Also, volunteer work is awesome and great for meeting new folks…though sometimes finding the time can be difficult.

I feel like I’m headed the same place. I found myself thinking, “it’d be a lot easier if I just did the whole home-to-work thing and stopped putting so much effort into socializing.” I felt horrible when I realized what I was thinking.

After reading the article I’m going to bite my proverbial tongue and not make comments. But I think it’s… inaccurately worded, in general.
